Sonus Health is a mobile app that uses groundbreaking AI, developed in Cambridge, UK, to extract complex health information from sound.
It extracts this data from sound recorded by a standard smartphone microphone. Simply put, the Sonus Health app allows you to place your smartphone against your dog’s chest and receive an in-depth health report. This report is based on cardiac sounds captured, filtered and enhanced through Digital Signal Processing and Machine Learning.
The app uses a credit system, with the amount of credits based on your subscription payment. After a simple scan, (which cost the least amount of credits, and which you can do for free at least once) the app immediately shows you preliminary results regarding your dog’s heart: HR, HRV and indications of murmur. These results may not be fully accurate - to confirm, and have the results reviewed by a veterinary cardiologist, you must request a Full Analysis.
You can request a Full Analysis at the bottom of your results page. After you request a Full Analysis, a detailed report on your pet’s health, reviewed by a veterinary cardiologist, will arrive in your inbox within 48 hours.
Use of the app exponentially decreases cost and enhances efficiency of care. However, please note that the app should never replace veterinary care, and is meant as a in-clinic or at-home triage and monitoring tool - see the disclaimer at the bottom of this page and at the top of each Sonus Report. -
A sample report can be seen below.
External assessors have determined the information in Sonus Health reports to normally cost around $800-$1600 USD for dog owners to obtain, at current standard pricing in the veterinary sector. The Sonus Health app allows vets, dog owners and insurers to access these insights much more rapidly, allowing rapid triage and swift referral to specialists when needed for eventual diagnosis.
